Global climate change continues to present challenges worldwide, with numerous countries experiencing its adverse effects. Recently, Kenya has been hit by severe floods, leading to the displacement of thousands of families. In the midst of this crisis, we are relieved to report that the children’s homes supported by Lift the Children were not swept away by the floods. However, some of these homes suffered from roof leakages, resulting in the destruction of food supplies, children’s files and documents, and books.

In response to this urgent situation, Lift the Children stepped in to support the affected homes. We provided 15 children’s homes with iron sheets to repair their damaged roofs. This timely intervention was made possible thanks to the generous contributions from the advisory board members of Lift the Children Canada. Their support was met with deep gratitude from the homes, as the ongoing rains had exacerbated their difficulties. The repair of the roofs is a critical measure that will ensure the safety and well-being of the children, protecting them from further damage and disruption.The assistance we provided not only addressed the immediate needs of the children’s homes but also underscored the importance of our continued support in the face of environmental challenges. As climate change continues to impact vulnerable communities, Lift the Children remains committed to offering timely and effective aid to ensure the safety, security, and well-being of the children in our care.We extend our heartfelt thanks to our advisory board members for their invaluable support.
