Havilah Children's Home was founded by Madam Sophia and her assistant, Grace, who first began feeding children in the local community. They established the home to offer education and a brighter future to young individuals in need.

Havilah is situated within a residential neighborhood, where children from the home are often found playing with residents of the surrounding community. The home's proximity to local schools permits the children to walk to their classes each day. In addition to providing access to education, Havilah also hosts infant care programs and a preschool for vulnerable children.

Havilah receives some support from well wishers and occasional funding from local churches and shops. Government aid, however, only covers the home's expenses for several months of the year. Currently, the home seeks additional funds to pay for clean water, utilities, and education fees.
