In pursuit of our mission to make a positive impact on the lives of children, Lift the Children has achieved a significant milestone by welcoming 398 more children into our program through the addition of 11 new children’s homes in 2023. This accomplishment stands as a testament to the unwavering support of our generous donors and advocates who believe in our cause. Located in the heart of Kanguruwe slum in Kayole Ward, Nairobi, Toto Angel Centre has undergone a complete transformation in just eight months since joining our program. Funding support from Lift the Children has not only ensured access to food and education, but has also improved the physical structures of the home and created a vibrant and child-friendly environment where the children are now thriving. In addition, the training provided to staff, including case management and documentation, has empowered them to secure additional resources, including a social worker. Elizabeth, the director of Toto Angel Centre, expresses her gratitude saying, “Thank you, Lift the Children, for your support. If it wasn’t for you, we could have been in a worse situation, especially with the economic crisis in our country.”

In Moi’s Bridge, Transzoia County, St. Miriam Children’s Home joined Lift the Children’s program in March of this year. The impact has been profound, as the children, who previously had no proper dining area and studied in a mud structure, now have a permanent stone building under construction. Lift the Children is delighted to witness the joy reflected in the smiles of these children. Every effort made is a step towards ensuring that every life counts, and we are overjoyed to have touched more lives this year and in the future.
