Celebrating a New Beginning – Reintegration at Jehovah Jireh Children’s Home
29 December 2024
Reintegration is a key milestone in the journey of children transitioning from institutional care to independent living. On December 9, 2024, Jehovah Jireh Children’s Home celebrated a transformative moment as 16 young adults (ages 18-23) successfully reintegrated into their communities.
A Journey of Growth and Support
This year, Lift the Children launched a Positive Parenting Program aimed at strengthening families and supporting care reform for family and community-based care. Jehovah Jireh was the first pilot home, and initially, reintegration was a significant challenge. However, through staff empowerment and continuous engagement with parents, the home successfully reintegrated all 16 young adults. The Sub-County Children’s Officer was present at the ceremony, signifying the government’s involvement and commitment to the process.
We are committed to monitoring and supporting these young adults as they transition, ensuring they have the resources they need to thrive.
Highlights of the Reintegration Ceremony:
✔ Counseling & Family Meetings prepared young adults for independent living.
✔ Jehovah Jire Board Members pledged continued support to reintegrated youth.
✔ Parents & Guardians attended, celebrating their children’s achievements.
✔ Christmas Packages symbolized ongoing care and support.
✔ Government presence through the Sub-County Children’s Officer emphasized official backing and support.
This event demonstrated the power of collaboration, counseling, and mentorship in ensuring successful reintegration. It’s a testament to what can be achieved when families and communities come together to support young people.
